The advent of the industrial revolution some 200 years ago has changed the life style in westernised countries of the world beyond measure. From being a mainly outdoor working society we now have a majority of people working indoors.

Seasonal Affected Disorder (S.A.D) in humans is a result of lack of sunshine during  the winter months, in latitudes greater than 45 degrees (north and south) especialy in dull climates. There are three main channels of treatment for this disorder, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Medication and Light Therapy.

Light therapy involves the use of direct sunlight, reflected sunlight or a a light box containing a high intensity light tube.
